About Beth

I AM A DESIGNER AND I MAKE THINGS

I delight in the beautiful, messy, organized, chaotic process of identifying and solving problems.

Here is a fun video of me speaking about Mistakes at a Kluge Evenings at the Loft event.

LEADING WITH DESIGN

Design is a process. The outcome of design can be a product, service or visual artifact. Everyone is a designer. As traditional design tools and methods become easier to use, and more accessible, the professional designer must lead and teach the process by asking questions, listening, observing, creating and testing and iterating.

I find joy through exploring human behavior, and understanding individual needs, using what I have learned, to create meaningful experiences with measurable outcomes.

ALWAYS CURIOUSĀ

I am always looking for new experiences and ways to approach problems, embracing early mistakes as part of the discovery process. Best practices can be a black hole to innovation.

DESIGN FOR ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE

Again, the best design solution may not result solely in a product but also in change to the way people work or interact. Identifying the current ways of working and exploring new approaches, can be the solution often complemented with new tools or products.

PUBLIC SPEAKING

I am one of those rare people who actually enjoys speaking in public, and thrives on teaching and training groups to work together.

INTERESTS

I love puppies and travel (who doesn't) and making crafts with children.

I am always curious and I want to try it all. I have so many interests, and if you tell me what you love, I will probably want to do that too!

I am lucky to have followed a path that allows me to continuously learn and explore. My resume offers a quick summary of my experience.
